What is a Veteran? Well, a veteran is a man or woman who at one time wrote a blank check, made out to the United States of America, in the amount of “up to and including my life” in the service of their country. We have the nation we have today because of that blank check that men and women started writing all the way back in 1775. I am Damned Proud to say members of my family wrote that check starting back in America’s Revolution. My Grandfather wrote one check in World War I and another in World War II. My Dad wrote one in World War II and another in Korea. Because of those two men I wrote one in Viet Nam, and today young men and women are writing checks for Iraq and Afghanistan  … and thank God they are! Because even though you don’t hear it much on the media news there are people that wish to murder each and everyone of us right here and right now and are planning on ways to do it. Remember I said that.

The American Military is the most humane military service on this damn planet. Those checks that young American men and women write are not just for we Americans, we have spent hundreds of thousands of young lives all over the world making it possible for freedom to be enjoyed by millions of people world wide. What? You don’t believe that? Well then I suggest you ask anyone in Great Britian, France, Russia, Poland, Italy, Germany, Japan, China, Korea who lived during the Second World War about American GI’s and see what they say. Even the Germans, and the Japanese (who by the way were our enemies then) what Americans did for them. Our GI’s freed millions of people world wide, and didn’t take it out on the peoples of our former enemies … we fed them, gave them medical care and taught them democracy. They have their lives today because of American Soldiers, whether they remember it or not. Millions of American men and women wrote that check putting their lives and the lives of their families on hold, and went and served! And so many of them were not able to come back again. Those are the real hero’s.

So, how does America show its gratitude?

I came home from the Army in 1972 after spending almost 6 months in military hospitals due to wounds I received in Viet Nam. I quickly learned to keep my experiences to myself because of the rabid anti-military attitude of so many in American society then. Veterans were vilified by the “Left” because of their service in a very unpopular war … oh yeah? If these assholes would have taken the time to ask the vet’s how they felt about the war they might have been surprised. No one hates the war, any war, more than the people that have to fight it. It ain’t like TV or the movies Ladies and Gentlemen, it is bone draining heat or bone crunching cold, it is sweat, bugs, boredom, interludes of mind numbing terror, it is life shattering wounds that will NEVER heal (especially in the mind) it is the violent death of men or women that are closer than a family member or even a lover, it is hunger and thirst, it is fear and terror … and you who are shielded call it combat.

So in order for combat to happen you must have an enemy. Today our current enemy is Islamic Killers that deliberately target “soft targets” like innocent civilians in schools, shopping marts, churches or Synagogues, you know, targets that won’t or can’t fight back. A coward’s form of combat. Of course if you ask the Leftists in America who the enemy is they will most likely point to the very group that is keeping chaos at arms length, the United States Military. Does that sound extreme? Well remember what Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were saying when “Presidenti Boosh” initiated the “surge?” Reid was blathering about we had already lost the war and Pelosi … well she just blathered. Code Pink, the Daily Kos and the Huffington Post made it known they HATED and LOATHED the military, and of course blathered … and the GREAT HOPE was Barry Obama! Oh Boy, he would set it all straight.

Now, before I proceed I got to make one thing clear. Since I started this blog business I have tried to keep it totally A-Political. If you drop by here to read this, I probably do not know you. This was a place where I could come and chat about things that interest me and by default … maybe interest you. I felt about politics like I feel about religion, what is my business is my business .. not yours. And I really do not care for the most part how you feel about politics or religion, not my business. I kept very quiet about how I felt during the last election. I did not like our American choices during the last national election. I never-ever liked John McCain, nor did I trust him. However, when it came to trust … Obama made my blood run cold. Why? Well, his race has NOTHING to do with it, it is his region and party and his politics that scared me. He came out of the Chicago Democratic Political Machine, one of the most corrupt in the country, outside of California’s. (Hell I should know, I live in California.) Obama’s former minister, Jeremiah Wright, was one of the most vile racists and anti-American demagogues I have come across since Louis Farrakhan rose from the gutter. (And just how God-Damned stupid did Obama think I was? He attends this ass-holes church for 20 fu*ken years and doesn’t know Wright is a racist and anti-American? Uh Huh.)

I kept my thoughts to myself when Obama won and tried to give him a chance just to see what shook out. Well, it shook out. What am I talking about? Well in all the millions and billions of dollars in the “stimulus package” Obama has been shoving down our throats, the newest outrage is the following. Obama wants America’s disabled and combat wounded veterans to pay for their own health care costs from their private insurance company’s! WTF?? Yeah, you heard me, you are a young man or woman, you want to serve your community and country, you put on the uniform and go into harms way, you end up fighting the murderous bastards out there that want to destroy western civilization and get HIT … (wounded) and now the President of the United States says “Tough Shit” Pal, get your personal health care provider to pay for it. WASHINGTON, March 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The leader of the nation’s largest veterans organization says he is “deeply disappointed and concerned” after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.

Okay, are you pissed off yet, because I am “fu*king livid. The United States of America can send HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO HAMAS in GAZA, you know, the same BASTARDS lobbing rockets and suicide bombers into Israel every day, but the men and the women willing to volunteer to serve as soldiers defending our way of life have to pay for it if they FREAKEN get wounded or hurt or disabled? There is something very FU*KING WRONG WITH THAT, DON’T YOU THINK?

Sorry if my language became rough, but by God this is an outrage. If the American public allows this thing to happen then maybe we don’t deserve to be a world leader any longer. You see what happens when a rank amateur gets into the drivers seat that never had to worry about anything more important than himself? I don’t know about you but this is just EVIL to me.
